Fashion show at Museum of Discovery and Science, 401 SW Second Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312, on Wednesday, May 8, 5 – 8 p.m. Featuring day to night collections (for spring and summer) of top brands, the show, sponsored by Macy's, will be held in the Keller Theatre. Professional make-up tables will also be set up. Hors d' oeuvres and cocktails will be available. In addition, gift sets and flower arrangements will be available for purchase just in time for Mother's Day.
Proceeds
from this Friends of the Museum of Discovery and Science event support the Museum’s Transition to Independent Living program. Every
year approximately 120 youth “age out” of the Broward foster care system
at age 18, leaving
many with no stability and little prospect of finding work. TIL, founded
in 2007, sponsors paid internships that provide on-the job training and
mentoring to help participants acquire skills for self-sufficiency.
